The wine was vinified using 50% whole cluster and aged for around 22 months in 65% new French oak barrique and 35% used French barrique

whilst retaining a sense of elegance and translating the terroir

I have always liked what Fichet does with the wine and in 2002

As is usually the case this is notably more elegant than the straight Chablis with its nose of pretty citrus

There is also a touch of wood that does not affect the transparency of the very rich, fullbodied and minerally flavors that possess ample amounts of mouth coating dry extract that also largely buffer the chewy, serious and dense tannic spine on the long, intense and driving finish.
